  • Course Description: High intensity has been popular for decades. However people like Jane Fonda, Les Mills, bootcamps, Obstacle Course Racing and CrossFit have made high intensity exercise popular for females. The USA Weightlifting Federation has seen a significant increase in membership largely in part to CrossFit’s use of Olympic Weightlifting in its exercise programming. With such high level physical challenges come concerns about how to manage common women’s health problems such as Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse (associated more with pelvic floor weakness) and Pelvic Pain (particularly from pelvic floor overactivity) as well as concerns about exercising during pregnancy, and postpartum issues such as divarication of rectus abdominis, exercising after a Caesarian section, and lifting while breastfeeding. This course will attempt to address these concerns about high intensity exercise in women, teach participants some of the common loaded movements, how to modify these exercises for different populations, and how to assess, treat and rehabilitate common lower half injuries.

One of the top questions we get is: I am a PT and am considering doing the courses for Pelvic PT. Which ones should I take? I’m not even sure if I’ll like doing it. What is Pelvic PT exactly? What are the “inside tips” to becoming comfortable with doing this type of work?

If you are interested in a free Webinar on steps you can take to become a proficient pelvic health PT (if you are an SPT or licensed PT in another specialty), this is for you!

  1. Hi there,

I learned so much from the female athlete course – The Lower half this weekend in Orlando, FL. The tools and skills I gained this weekend I can apply to any patient demographic and build my female athlete clientele. The treatment approach was very functional. And all of my questions were answered. Antoni is a great instructor, he really had me thinking about functional approaches and why or why not they work. I appreciated his perspective.
I look forward to taking more courses through the Pelvic Guru Academy. I’m a Believer in the model because I gained so many Tools in this one weekend. I was able to apply them immediately. There is no doubt that this educational model works.

      • Dear Sir i am suffering from a almost chronic issue by now,if you could kindly help me,i shall be grateful indeed, i have been sitting on the borders of bed for over hours for computing and my posture is always odd like back bent back and neck forwarded, i hope you understand the posture when a person sitting on a computer for 8 to 12 hours constantly,
one day i visited one place and found difficult in sitting on the floor, felt like contractures at pelvic area, but i sat up (that was new thing for me) and than one day while surfing net and sitting in same odd position i felt numbness in my penis , i immediately stood up and manipulated my penis in hand and sensitivity regained immediately but after a few days i developed numbness in my penis till now and i dont feel any taste in sex even. my cock and scrotum in numb and i feel moderately severe pain at the ring of cock (the junction of cock and skin, i am circumcised person). i have erections but not very strong that i had before. and i feel the taste coming from prostate only. i believe this is pudendal nerve issue because i was having pain at gluteal regoins while sitting that is resolved now. i was feeling that my gluteal muscles are gone and was feeling pain while sitting before. but now no pain and i am active with no exercise limitations.
